Neighborhood Groups (NGs) are small member groups who meet to pursue special interests such as:

Fitting and pattern manipulation

Quilting

Hand sewing (embroidery, Sashiko, etc.)

And other fiber arts related interests

Currently, the Lansing Clippers have the following Neighborhood Groups:

NG – Sew Styling
Purpose – To pursue the love of sewing. Every sewist is welcome, from beginner to experienced. We are primarily a discussion group, with interest in learning sewing tips and techniques. Members also try to help each other with sewing issues. We love show & tell!

NG – Happy Hoopers Embroidery Group
​
Purpose – To learn more about machine embroidery. This is a discussion group only. All aspects of machine embroidery are discussed and members show successful embroideries as well as those that did not turn out as expected. Members try to help each other with problems they encounter with embroidery projects. Everyone is welcome regardless of level of expertise or brand of embroidery machine.

NG - Pattern Works
Purpose – To learn how to fit patterns and make changes to patterns (pattern hacking).
This group meets the second Saturday of each month at the Delta Community Library, Lissa K. McLean Room, 5130 Davenport Rd., Lansing, MI 48917 from 10:00 a.m. – noon.
The next three regular meeting dates are:
Saturday, July 12th
Saturday, August 9th
Saturday, September 13th
We are working on fitting pants patterns and making muslins. If you need help with fitting, bring your pattern, muslin and/or pants. We will also review how to insert a fly front zipper and other techniques used to make pants.
In addition to our regular July meeting, we are also meeting Saturday, July 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Room at the Delta Community District Library. This will give us time and space to work on making fitting changes to our patterns, making a muslin, and cutting and sewing the pants. Remember to bring your pattern, muslin, sewing machine, and sewing notions. Bring your lunch if you are staying until 3:00 p.m.

NG- Skein Gang
Purpose - To pursue the art of knitting and crocheting. This group will work on individual projects. Members will help each other with problems encountered with their projects. Everyone is welcome regardless of their level of expertise.
Join us Monday,June 23th at the Delta Community Library, Lissa K. McLean Room, 5130 Davenport Dr., Lansing, MI 48917 from 10 a.m - 1:00 p.m.
Bring your lunch and something to drink. All drinks must have lids to prevent spilling.

The group will not meet in July and August. Have a great summer!
