Currently, the Lansing Clippers have the following Neighborhood Groups:

NG – Sew Styling

Purpose –  To pursue the love of sewing.  Every sewist is welcome, from beginner to experienced. We are primarily a discussion group, with interest in learning sewing tips and techniques. Members also try to help each other with sewing issues.

Join us Thursday, July 11th, 1:00 - 3:00 at the Bath Twp Library.  Join us for the purse reveal show & tell and discussion plus the introduction to September’s project, Cover It Up.

No meeting in August.

Questions - please contact Joyce Savage 517-331-9933 or at

NG – Happy Hoopers Embroidery Group

Purpose – To learn more about machine embroidery.  This is a discussion group only.  All aspects of machine embroidery are discussed and members show successful embroideries as well as those that did not turn out as expected.  Members try to help each other with problems they encounter with embroidery projects.  Everyone is welcome regardless of level of expertise or brand of embroidery machine.

Join us July 2, 2024, 1-3 pm at the Hen House in Charlotte for a discussion and sharing of Picnic Time! Embroider a summer or picnic time theme and bring it to show and tell.  You don't have to have a completed project.  We will be talking about design sources and materials used to create these designs and how we may use them in a project.  Think about one you would like to do and questions you may have about the techniques.

NG - Pattern Works

Purpose – To learn how to fit patterns, hack/mash patterns, and draft patterns.  This newly formed group meets one Saturday a month at the Delta Community District Library, 5130 Davenport Dr., Lansing, MI 48917.    There will be no meeting in June.  The next meeting will be July 13th from 10:00 a.m. to noon (library opens at 10am).

During the last two meetings, this group worked with members to fit the muslins for the Moss Jacket pattern.  Our next fitting project will be making a blouse or top.  We will discuss our patterns and fitting problems at the July 13th meeting.  We will also fit muslins for members who bring them to the meeting.

All of us are at different levels of sewing, but we are learning from each other.  Join us July 13th at 10 a.m. if you are interested in working with patterns to get them to fit or designing garments by combining patterns or drafting patterns.
