Neighborhood Groups

Neighborhood Groups (NGs) are small member groups who meet to pursue special interests such as:

  • Garment construction

  • Machine Embroidery

  • Knitting and crocheting

  • Fitting and pattern manipulation

  • Quilting

  • Hand sewing (embroidery, Sashiko, etc.)

  • And other fiber arts related interests

Currently, the Lansing Clippers have the following Neighborhood Groups:

NG – Sew Styling   

   

Purpose – To pursue the love of sewing. We are excited to announce our focus is on sergers; learning what they have to offer us.  We are primarily a discussion group only. Members help each other with sewing issues. We love show & tell!

 

We meet at the Bath Twp Public Library on the 2nd Thursday from 1:00-4:00pm, 14051 Webster Rd, Bath, MI 48808. In 2026 we will meet every other month.

 

Nov 13:  No meeting.

Dec 11:  Bring a Christmas project where you used a serger, your serger manual for planning what you want to learn and a small snack.

NG – Happy Hoopers Embroidery Group

 

​

Purpose – To learn more about machine embroidery.  This is a discussion group only.  All aspects of machine embroidery are discussed and members show successful embroideries as well as those that did not turn out as expected.  Members try to help each other with problems they encounter with embroidery projects.  Everyone is welcome regardless of level of expertise or brand of embroidery machine.

Join us January 7, 2025 1-3 pm at the Hen House in Charlotte for a discussion and sharing of  in-the hoop designs.

NG - Pattern Works

​

Purpose – To learn how to fit patterns and make changes to patterns (pattern hacking).

​

Saturday, November 15th 10am to 4pm - Sewing Day at the Church for Pattern Works and all Guild members.  Bring you sewing project and join us for a day of sewing.  If you can, please bring a snack to share and a drink. St David's Episcopal Church, Saturday, 519 Elmwood Rd, Lansing, MI 48917, USA

 

This group meets the second Saturday of each month at the Delta Community Library, Lissa K. McLean Room, 5130 Davenport Rd., Lansing, MI 48917 from 10:00 a.m. – noon.   There may be times when we need to change which Saturday we meet.  If that happens, the new meeting date will be announced in advance on this website.

 

The next two regular meeting dates are:

Saturday, November 15th (date change)

Saturday, December 13th

 

We are currently working on fitting an unlined jacket pattern and making muslins.  If you need help with fitting, bring your pattern, muslin and/or jacket with you to the meeting.

NG- Skein Gang

 

Purpose - To pursue the art of knitting and crocheting.  This group will work on individual projects.  Members will help each other with problems encountered with their projects.  Everyone is welcome regardless of their level of expertise.

Skein Gang is on holiday pause.  See you in January 26, 2026.

 

Join us Monday January 26, 2026,  at the Delta Community Library, Lissa K. McLean Room, 5130 Davenport Dr., Lansing, MI 48917 from 10 a.m - 1:00 p.m.

 

Bring your lunch and something to drink.  All drinks must have lids to prevent spilling.
