Annual Challenge
Each year the Lansing Clippers presents a new challenge for members.

-
The 2026 challenge is to Reduce, Reuse, or Upcycle.
-
This year’s challenge project will continue the spirit of Reduce, Reuse & Upcycle - Take 3. This year’s challenge will not only encourage shopping your own personal resource center for most of your project… but learning or improving a technique. Your project should be started after January 1, 2026 and completed for show and tell at the December 2026 meeting. At show and tell, you should be prepared to discuss which technique you concentrated on. There is no set project or technique… but here are a few technique’s you may want to consider…
-
Binding, apparel fitting, miniatures - think baby doll clothes or mini quilts/afghans, hand stitching, hand or machine embroidery, learning to crochet or knit, sewing a zipper, finishes, interfacing or lining, scalloped edges, mitered corners, alterations, slippery fabric… the list goes on - let your imagination (or Google) be your guide.
-
The project must be fiber arts related.
-
The project must be made during the 2026 calendar year (started after January 1, 2026 and completed by the December 2026 Guild meeting).
-
The project must use 90% of material that you owned on January 1, 2026. Reduce your stash, reuse items you have, upcycle old items in to something new.
-
Drawings for prizes will be awarded at the December monthly meeting.
-
Everyone who completes the challenge will be eligible for the drawing
